Abstract

In educational settings such as nurseries, kindergartens and schools, preschoolers and students create written works and paintings on a daily basis. These are copyrighted works and must be handled carefully. However, neither preschoolers and students nor teachers are aware that these works are copyrighted. As a result, the preschoolers and students’ works are handled sloppily from a legal point of view and tend to be lost over time. This copyright problem, which is unique to educational settings, has been pointed out for quite some time, but it has not been resolved in practical terms. The problem could be resolved by complying with copyright law, but this would increase the burden on educational institutions. Therefore, to resolve copyright issues faced by preschoolers and students in educational settings, this report analyzes theories and papers regarding this issue.
