Description

The present study was conducted with two fourth-grade boys with autistic spectrum disorder who were taught tact as reporting. Both boys initially failed to report, but with a few interventions, such as telling them to report, they were able to do so. In addition, when they were given equipment that could record during the university expedition, they had longer conversations with their mothers, although this did not promote tact as reporting. Although the amount of reporting did not increase when conducted in naturalistic settings, the tact as reporting itself was easier to learn and maintain, suggesting the importance of extending the conversation triggered by the tact as reporting rather than increasing the amount.
