説明
Numerous statistical studies have been conducted on subjective well-being, and, in recent years, studies showing that religions contribute to subjective well-being have drawn much attention. More than 70% of contemporary Japanese being reported as non-religious, what kind of factors are contributing to the “happiness” of the Japanese? In order to answer this question, we conducted a questionnaire survey on subjective well-being among youth, and carried out statistical data analysis. The results show that subjective well-being fluctuate easily for non-religious individuals because of many factors affecting them. Furthermore, satisfaction of esteem needs (Maslowʼs hierarchy of needs) strongly contributes to happiness in non-religious groups. Based on these results, we consider the problem of mental health in modern young generation, from a psychopathological point of view.
