Description

An alternating layered structure of sodium tungsten bronze and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide bilayer micellar template was successfully prepared via a one-pot synthesis at 80°C for 2 h. The layered structure was confirmed by X-ray diffraction technique and transmission electron microscopy. Intermolecular interaction between the organic bilayer micelles and the inorganic tungsten oxide layer was observed. Furthermore, the sintered sample was prepared via a conventional method after the removal of the organic templating moiety. Subsequently, its thermoelectric properties were measured at temperatures up to 800°C in an Ar atmosphere. An improved Seebeck coefficient was achieved as a result of the unconventional morphology in the bulk sample.
