Description

Since Ambrose had reported cranial computed tomography, Orbito-Meatal line has been used as a baseline for routine CT examination which is not sufficient for posterior fossa and basal frontal lobe evaluation. The plane 20° toward the feet is recommended by some American authers to ensure the better images of posterior fossa. We propose our new baseline for routine CT scan which can be localized by Glabella and bilateral external auditory meatus on the basis of measured data of normal Japanese adult. Glabello-Meatal line (GM LINE) is angled 16°toward the feet from OM line and the merits of this line are as follows ; 1)Both posterior fossa and frontal base can be examined routinely. 2)The plane can be determined easily and exactry because of separated three points localization.
