Abstract

In this study, we focus on the position identification analysis of a cavity based on the hammering test. The identification analysis of the cavity position is carried out based on the finite element and the adjoint variable methods. In general, if the difference between the initial and the target states is large, the performance function converges to a local optimal solution. In this study, the tunneling algorithm which is one of the global optimization theorem is applied to the position identification problem. In this paper, the relationship between the cavity position and local optimal solution is shown by forward analysis, after that, the cavity position as the global optimal solution is identified by inverse analysis. As the result, it was confirmed that identified cavity position is close to the target position. Moreover, it was found that the displacement history at final iteration is in good agreement with that of the target cavity position.
