<p>Cartesian mesh is receiving a lot of attention because it can generate grid automatically and quickly compared to Unstructured mesh. However, numerical flow analysis using Cartesian mesh tend to overestimate separation compared with structured mesh. In this study, it investigated the influence of the initial value of flowfields to steady-state flow computation of 30P30N High-Lift Airfoil with a slat and a flap because the separation is quite sensitive. Three restart methods were tested to provide initial values in addition to impulsive start. As a result, a difference is observed for the flow field around the airfoil in the same angle of attack. The restart method of velocity vector rotation with changed inflow condition can delay separation compared to impulsive-start at high angle of attack. It is because the flow is accelerated around a slat, and thus supplied enough energy is supplied to the top of the flap.</p>
