Description

In this review, the potential of terahertz spectroscopy as a new tool for the study of soft materials is discussed. We have succeeded in developing a method for the assignment of low-frequency vibrational modes of polymers and obtained information about their higher-order conformations. By the temperature dependent THz spectra of the polymers, the change of the hydrogen-bond interaction and the structure of the polymers during the phase transition were observed.
