<p>Although solid-state physicists frequently use the flux method to obtain single crystalline samples for their research, the beautiful appearance of such crystals are not very well appreciated nor publicized. In this article, photographs of various flux-grown crystals are reproduced from my recent book, Beginner's Guide to Flux Crystal Growth (NIMS Monographs, Springer, 2017), and their morphology and possible growth mechanisms are briefly discussed. It is suggested that, as in the case of gemmology, photographs of beautiful crystals can be used to entice more students into research in solid-state physics.</p>
