Abstract
The ESR-signal intensity of fine quartz in the silt fraction, and the clay mineral composition were examined, in order to investigate the influence of eolian dust on the parent materials in two fine-textured soils developed on the Plestocene plateaus in the western part of Shizuoka Prefecture, Central Japan. The results were summarized as follows: The eolian dust brought with the winter NW-monsoon from the Precambrian area in the northern part of Asia Continent during the MIS2 (24-11 thousands years ago) in the Last Glacial Maximum was influenced severely on the parent materials in these soils, while the Pleistocence sediments which are autochthonous materials in the bed rocks of these soils were also influenced on their parent materials. Moreover, the Tephras such as Aira (A-Tn) were admixed into these soils.
