This study aimed to explore an association with others in shallow relationships. We defined “skills used in shallow relationships” as social skills used in superficial relationships that are not close but still stable. In addition, we examined skills used in shallow relationships were examined. A total of 400 university students responded to a questionnaire. From the exploratory factor analysis, a scale for skills used in shallow relationships was made, and three factors were found. They were Superficial Agreement Skill, Pleasure Feigning Skill, and Conflict Avoidance Skill. The reliability and validity of the overall scale were confirmed. The relationships between the skills used in shallow relationships and conventional social skills were then examined. The results demonstrated that the skills used in shallow relationships and Skill to Maintain Relations have a strong positive correlation. In terms of the stable relations scale, multiple regression analysis showed that there was an influence by Conflict Avoidance Skill.
