Abstract

Recently, it is difficult to detect inflammation part because it depends on the medical staff's individual skills. We developed the inflammation detector device using near infrared ray. Inflammation increase blood volume for decomposing abnormal body tissue and virus. It is because blood has neutrophlic leukocyte and macrophage. Accordingly, it is thought that inflammation on body tissue can be detected based on blood volume. Amount of hemoglobin in blood can be measured by near infrared ray without invasion. We developed a device with light-emitting diode (near infrared ray) and photodiode to detect blood volume utilizing differences from absorbance of near infrared ray. Blood volume was measured in chicken breast and chicken lever using our device. Chicken breast has less blood, while chicken lever has a lot of blood. Our experiment reveals the possibility of the detection for inflammation in noninvasive way.
