Abstract

Visual aids for the presentations are usually created as “slides”. However, in “slide” what is talked about as a story of a presentation and visuals to be displayed on the screen are mixed. We assumed that the most important thing in the presentation is a story. Therefore, we regarded story of the presentation as a “model”. We also assumed that it is necessary to separate story from what is displayed on the screen, which is regarded as “view”. We developed a visual aid system for presentation based on such assumption. First of all, a story of a presentation is created in the form of plain text. Then the user select minimum necessary part in the story and define how those part should be displayed on the screen using simple visual programming language. With this system, the user is able to consider the story of the presentation regardless the constraint of slide format. The development of this system and the usage results are discussed.
