Description

In recent years, treatment of melasma using low fluence 1,064 Q-switched Nd:YAG laser also known as ‘laser toning’ has became a common technique. Since 2014, I have treated melasma with low fluence 755 nm Q-switched Alexandrite laser (QSAL), obtaining good clinical results without complications such as, hypopigmentation or scar formation. Low fluence QSAL by strict control of laser energy and frequency is a safe and effective treatment for melasma, and could be considered as a therapeutic option.
