Description

<p>We captured one worker of Vespa velutina on Tsushima Island of Nagasaki Prefecture on 20 October 2012. This is the first collection record of V. velutina from Japan. Since V. velutina is known for its great capacity to adapt to environmental changes, it is suggested that the spread of V. velutina is likely to affect the unique ecosystem of Tsushima Island in the near future.</p>
