Description
Our previous study demonstrated immediate changes in eyesight in response to a method of training in free stereo viewing. In the present research we observed the same changes in another group and investigated the effects of the training for five weeks. [Method] The subjects were a group of nine adults attending Kurita's eyesight recovery course employing "training in free stereo viewing" (3D viewing) once a week for five weeks. Eyesight was measured before and after each training session, and the average value of the eyesight measurements for the five weeks was used as data. [Result] The results are shown as average values. The 3D viewing brought about an improvement in the naked-eye eyesight (without glasses) of both eyes from 0.14 to 0.19 (difference of 0.04, increase of 30%), and an improvement in the corrected eyesight (with glasses) of both eyes from 0.79 to 0.94 (difference of 0.15, increase of 19%). After the five-week period of the training, the naked-eye eyesight of both eyes changed from 0.12 to 0.27 (difference of 0.14), for an average increase of 2.2 times (increase of 2.21 between the two average values), and the corrected eyesight of both eyes changed from 0.71 to 0.94 (difference of 0.24), for an average increase of 1.34 times (increase of 1.43 times between the two average values). [Assessment] The 3D training had the immediate effect of eyesight improvement. The results also suggested that when the method is continued for five weeks, the improvement can be expected to increase during the period of training.
