Description

By conducting a comparative examination, based on a survey that focused on the commonality and differences in the viewpoints of the children, teachers; and parents, this paper attempted to elucidate the problems and challenges in painting education today. The results we have concluded revealed that there was a strong correlation between the teachers and parents in their viewpoint (critique). There was a low correlation between the children and both teachers and parents with the viewpoint of the first graders. It was observed that when the teachers and parents showed their drawings based on realistic viewpoints, the children’s sense of value increased and were willing to show more pictures to them. Moreover, There are some teachers who use the criteria of “having skill” and “not having skill” in the critique assessment of the children’s drawings which was based on the graphics and reproducibility of the drawings. In conclusion, such revelations suggested the possibility of that teachers affected by such viewpoints on drawing felt negative about teaching drawings to their students. Thereby, in order to compensate for that, the teachers have given typical instruction.
