Description
A simplified inundation estimation method was developed capable of applying to a rather wide area such as 50 km x 45 km. The method calculates inundation depths by combining use of a quasi linear storage model and a 2-D ground flow model, and then the results are distributed onto a details-scale ground altitude model utilizing the open data available from Japanese ministries. The method showed a good reproduction for the flood by typhoon 1411 Halong in the downstream catchments of the Yoshino and Katuura Rivers, the eastern part of Tokushima, Japan.
