Abstract

In information processing basic education classes at Shokei University, students first carry out exercises on the keyboard. Students then submit a printed out version of the results of their keyboard exercises. Subsequently instructors enter the data into a spreadsheet and create a PDF file which is then uploaded to the school's Web server. By creating a TypeQuick data extraction Web display program (TQ2HTML), a web page display program was developed by the author that automatically creates an HTML file by having students simply synchronize their data to the TypeQuick server. By utilizing this program, students can automatically backup the results of their keyboard exercises without having to hand in a printed out version. Furthermore the need for instructors to do data input and uploads to the server is eliminated as well as any possible input errors. This system has been shown to have advantages for both teachers and students.
