Abstract

Quantum entanglement is the correlation between particles at a distant. Since the seminal discussions of Einstein, Podolsky, and Rosen, two-particle quantum entanglement has been used to magnify and confirm the peculiarities of quantum mechanics. Recently, quantum entanglement has been shown to be not only about the fundamental physics but also for some applicable purposes such as a quantum cryptography and a quantum computation. Then the generation of the multi-partite entanglement is investigated in many quantum systems. Here we introduce the history about generation of quantum entanglement with trapped ions. Although there are some difficulties to make multi-partite entanglement, we demonstrate one solution to generate them stably.
