Description
<p> Organic contaminant is a significant problem in ponds and dam. Adopting of the new method of improvement of density stratification was considered by numerical simulations and experiments. In this study Nomura dam in Ehime prefecture was selected as the adopting site of the method. The simulated results were compared with the experiment results and showed a good agreement. Then, the simulated results using the flow and stratification conditions of Nomura dam indicated that the method of this study had an effectiveness for mixing layer. As an example of installing the equipment generating the upwelling, the semicircular outflow equipment was considered by experiments. From the results of experiments, the water purification curve of Nomura dam was identified, that is convenient for estimating the effective condition of installing the equipment.</p>
