Abstract
<p>This article introduces some cases of archival digitalization and proposes methods of records digitalization to archivists. First, the author discusses some cases of database creation, e.g. the Shoso-in documents and the photo collection of Teijiro Ueda. What these databases have in common is respect for archival method.</p><p>Moreover, these databases are also characterized by response to researcher demand. However, the author is aware that archivists might be dissatisfied with the outcome in meeting certain research demands. Thus,lastly, the author offers some propositions to archivists for making ʻdigital data for archivistsʼ.</p>
