Abstract
<p>Text analysis is a quantitative process which decodes the writer's internal stats (such as emotion and intention) encoded with the character. In this decade, there have been many reports about statistical methods for estimating structure underlying text messages and computational algorithms to handle a large amount of data, which implemented in many kinds of programming languages. Among them, the free software R is one of the most widely used and suitable for programming beginners. In this article, we summarized hands-on style lesson of a basic example of statistical knowledge, how to build a basic analysis environment, and specific examples of analysis using small data for beginners of text analysis before attempting full-scale analysis.</p>
