Abstract

The detection efficiency to determine radon concentration in ground water by γ-ray spectrometry was investigated using a standard volume source. In our previous work, the density of the calibration source was 1.3 mg/cm3. In the present work, the density was adjusted to 1.0 mg/cm3using granite and activated carbon powders. The result agreed well with previous work. The radon concentrations in ground water in northeast, Seto inland sea and neighboring areas in Hiroshima prefecture were reported.
