Abstract

This research aims to create new composite fabrics with unique characteristics and texture by combining nonwovens with knitted fabrics using water jet method. The water jet method is a technique used to produce nonwovens and combine nonwovens; however, there are no reports on combining nonwovens with knitted fabrics for clothing. This study aims to create new composite fabrics by combining rayon nonwovens with cotton knitted fabrics using water jet method. The prepared composite fabrics showed stiffness, although its elongation was retained. Additionally, the fabric displayed a smooth surface and hygroscopicity owing to the hydrophilic rayon fibers, and the washing durability was improved by adding vinylon binders into nonwovens. Children’s clothing was created using the composite fabrics prepared by combining patterned nonwovens.
