Abstract

Small or medium size three cities of Higashi-Mikawa in Aichi Prefecture decided upon the Housing and Dwelling Master Plan under the Basic Act for Housing. In this report, I analyzed the process of planning and the measure of these plans. The subject of this survey is Toyokawa-shi, Tahara-shi and Gamagohri-shi. In these years,Toyokawa-shi and Tahara-shi consolidated, but Gamagohri-shi did not consolidate. I compared these three cities and analyzed a measure to perform in the suburbs of these consolidated cities. The measures which can be extracted are promotion of settlement, formation of a compact city, practical use of vacant housings, etc.
