<p>Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited opened a state-of-the-art research facility in Shonan, as a center of open innovation in April, 2018. The new research park, named “Shonan Health Innovation Park” (iPark), aims to create a vibrant, open innovation ecosystem in which researchers with diverse backgrounds and projects will translate cutting-edge science into innovative solutions for the benefit of patients. This move is intended to accelerate industrialization of innovative ideas by nurturing an entrepreneurial culture and supporting startup companies. We expect researchers in tenant companies will gather and exchange their ideas, creating new science and business there.</p>
