<p>At the Department of Innovative Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, Chiba Institute of Technology, we are planning the competition called “Robot Triathlon” for development of our department. In this competition, we plan to use renewable energy to get the destination. First of all we fly the robot containing a rocket from coastline to the sea. Next the robot sails to land automatically by own sensors, programs and actuators. Finally after arriving on land, the robot runs to the final destination. We considered that it needs the robot’s self-location, facing direction and wind direction. They can be detected by GPS sensor, absolute encoder with a wing and geomagnetic sensor respectively. Basic experiment was conducted about the sensors.</p>
