Abstract
This paper focuses on contention resolution diversity slotted ALOHA (CRDSA) as one of the media access control schemes. In this paper, we propose the most likelihood estimation methods for the interference rate from outside the network in CRDSA. By estimating the interference rate, the number of replicas on CRDSA can be properly controlled and the throughput reduction can be mitigated. From simulation evaluations, proposed methods can estimate the out-of-network interference rate, and we show that the throughput is improved by appropriately adjusting the replica amounts of CRDSA according to the estimated interference rate.
