Abstract

The traffic environment is changing drastically with the advance of information devices and self-driving vehicle. In recent years, the concept of MaaS (Mobility as a Service) was born, and demand traffic such as car sharing and ride sharing is expected to be actively used as secondary traffic, but congestion worsens xue to excessive demand traffic usage is also a concern. However, in the current plan of public transportation network formaxion, mass transportation is the main, and demand transportation assumes only a minimum service for the weak traffic. In this study, assuming a society where MaaS is widespread, the optimal operation of demand transportation and population distribution were verified using the total transportation cost and travel time. From the result, in areas where there is a certain concentration of population, operation efficiency can be improved by hierarchies that utilize demand traffic as feeder trip in the mass transportation. In addition, it was found that optimal operation efficiency was obtained by concentrating the population in a concentric shape in the central city area and a corridor in the suburbs.
