Abstract
The purpose of this study was to consider the interaction between the self-assertion and the ability to live. The factor that the general public required for children was "the ability to live" in Japan. Many psychological studies on the group adjustment suggested that children should assert themselves clearly to improve human relations. Moreover, children who could assert themselves adjusted to their groups. Therefore the development of the self-assertion might be vital for children to possess the ability to live.
