- Strength evaluation of bundled CNT using Raman spectroscopy and in-situ SEM tensile testing

<p>Recently, carbon nanotube (CNT) attracts much attention as high strength material compared with metals. CNT is on a nanometer scale so that it must be enlarged to a usable size. Raman spectroscopy is known as an effective tool for identifying the internal structure of CNTs. In this study, the bundled CNT is sampled by a manipulator in scanning electron microscope (SEM) for Raman spectroscopy. The analyzed sample is subjected to uniaxial tension using original tensile tester in SEM. We investigate the relationship between tensile strength and Raman spectral parameters in bundled CNTs.</p>
