Description
The discovery of the iron-based superconductor LaFeAs (O_<1-x>F_x) by Kamihara, et al. had a great impact for condensed matter researchers, and a great deal of effort has been applied to understanding the physical properties and superconducting mechanism of the new resulting family of iron-based superconductors. In this article, the authors review their normal-state and superconducting properties investigated by four different experimental techniques (transport, photoemission, neutron scattering, and nuclear magnetic resonance), and discuss the relationship between experimental results and the unique band structure of the iron-based compounds.
