Abstract

In Kagoshima, the amount of solar radiation is very high, so the penetration rate of solar power generation is high nationwide. However, a magnificent tourist attraction called ”Sakurajima” in Kagoshima erupts frequently, and its ash fall has a negative impact on the surrounding area. Due to the small particle size of the volcanic ash produced by the eruption, they are carried far by the wind and deposited in photovoltaic facilities. Therefore, volcanic ash accumulates on Equipment of photovoltaic generation. Performance of the electric equipment thereby decreases. In Kagoshima, it is necessary to investigate the influence that volcanic ashes give to equipment of photovoltaic generation to greatly receive the influence of volcanic ashes by the eruption of Sakurajima. In this study, the power generation capacity when simulating the accumulation of volcanic ash from Sakurajima on the surface of the photovoltaic power generation module was evaluated by the PR method.
