<p>　Green infrastructure has been recently attracting attention as one of the ideas for promoting sustainable and attractive national land development and regional development. In terms of both hardware and software such as social capital development and land use, green infrastructure has the effects of providing a habitat for living organisms, which are various functions of the natural environment, forming a good landscape, and suppressing temperature rise. Although it is considered significant to utilize green infrastructure in the sewerage works, there are a few introduction cases. Therefore, we conducted a basic survey on the introduction trends of green infrastructure in Japan and overseas. In addition, we carried out a nationwide questionnaire survey on the policies of stormwater management in local municipalities, the way of thinking about the introduction of green infrastructure, and the introduction status and its challenges. Then we summarized the characteristics of green infrastructure introduction cases and analyzed the questionnaire results. By analyzing the factors that green infrastructure has not been utilized in the sewerage works, the challenges in its introduction were explored and the promoting way was discussed for introducing green infrastructure.</p>
