Abstract
<p>In order to improve the machining efficiency of the Magnetic Abrasive Finishing process, a new ultra-precision MAF process was developed. This new finishing process has a circulating system that uses a conveyor belt to renew the mixed abrasive particles. Because the number of abrasive particles involved in finishing process will not decrease, the machining efficiency will not decrease over time. An experimental device was designed and the experiment was completed. The sus304 stainless steel plate was used as the workpiece. The experimental result shows the feasibility of this finishing method, and the workpiece surface roughness can be improved from 273 nm Ra to 23 nm Ra. </p>
