Abstract

<p>This report provides a reflection on the “Potential of Music” forum in the form of a discussion between Professor Toru MIYAZAKI, who delivered a lecture at the forum entitled “Music and Science: Investigating—and Expressing— Absolute Truth,” and Associate Professor Riina TOYA the forum’s moderator. They discuss the main point of Professor Miyazaki’s lecture: “Science and art aspire to the same thing. The difference is in how they express it.” Responding to the forum, the discussants go on to consider means of promoting interdisciplinary collaboration in the future, focusing on the types of relationships that provide stimulation at the conceptual level.</p>
