Abstract

<p>About 20 years have passed since Business information services were launched in Japan, they have become popular services provided by about 35% of public libraries in Japan. In this article, I introduce Anjo City Library in a case of business information services in city libraries. Anjo City Library provide business information services by library materials and “Venues” in addition to collaborating with the “ABC (Anjo Business Concierge)”, a business center in a library. Synergistic effects have been created by the collaboration between the specialized institution “ABC” and the library which has abundant information and is open to everyone. Provision of appropriate information, including guidance to specialized institutions, is an ideal form of business information services in public libraries.</p>
