Description

With the COVID-19 pandemic, body temperature estimation based on surface temperature have been conducted in various locations. In order to conduct accurate deep body temperature estimation, we estimated prefrontal cortex temperature from surface temperature near the inner corner of an eye using temperature compensation-type deep body temperature probe attached to forehead to obtain prefrontal cortex temperatures as training data. The temperatures of facial surface near the eye and prefrontal cortex were measured in 6 healthy subjects (4 males and 2 females, mean age 21.7 years).Below is the equation for estimating prefrontal cortex temperature using 40 training data sets of 4 subjects.Y=0.27*X+26.9 (Y: prefrontal cortex temperature, X: surface temperature near the inner corner of an eye)We verified the accuracy with 20 test data sets of 2 subjects and the estimation equation showed high accuracy with an estimation error of 0.03 degrees Celsius and a correlation coefficient of 0.88.
