Description

The author conducted a field workshop in Ogata Geopark for freshmen in undergraduate schools. To promote such classes, one of the key aspects is the revision of risk management in outdoor activities. For considering risk management more appropriately, he conducted a questionnaire survey with the freshmen, with regard to abilities pertaining to risk management. The results revealed that freshmen cannot identify important risks and can hardly evaluate them.
