Description
“Lilith” is a short story written by Ye Lingfeng in 1933. In myths, legends, and western literary traditions, Lilith is often described as an evil woman. However, Ye Lingfeng considered Lilithʼs story to be extremely beautiful. In this novel, Ye Lingfeng projected the heroine into Lilith. The heroine is living with enormous stress in Shanghai, but she is still beautiful, pure, and proud. Ye Lingfeng sympathized with her. Ye Lingfengʼs “Lilith” has many similarities to Anatole Franceʼs “The Daughter of Lilith”. It shows that Lilith described by Ye Lingfeng is a figure that was inspired by “The Daughter of Lilith” and shaped. Through this novel, Ye Lingfeng expressed the beautiful state of the two characters in love that he longed for.
