What is the ruling passion of teachers for educating their pupil? Based on the interview for three teachers of elementary schools in Kinki area, this paper tries to clarify what the teachers' objectives are and how they engage in education. This paper also introduces previous researches in the fields both of education and economics of education for reference of the findings obtained in this interview. We can find that the ruling passion, or motivation, of teachers is to contribute to the society by themselves and to educate pupil who can contribute to the society. That is, the significance of teachers is the contribution to society. These findings would be beneficial to construct macroeconomic growth models when we incorporate the mechanism of education.
