Abstract

Office for World Cultural Heritage in the Agency for Cultural Affairs has mainly two responsibilities; one is to inscribe the cultural sites in the list of UNESCO World Heritage, and another is to promote and execute the appropriate protection, management and utilization of the inscribed cultural heritages in Japan. The aim of this paper is to describe the general outline of the jobs for the inscribed heritages and the challenging issues to be responded in the future.
