Establishment of vocational education in Soviet Russia in 1920 - 1930s : a regional perspective

Description

At the example of one of the regions of Soviet Russia - Bashkortostan, in the post-October period the author investigates the establishment of a general system of vocational education and training of skilled workers and professionals for the regional industry. It is shown that the growing needs of the leading sector of the economy urged the development of factory training schools, vocational schools, technical schools, workers' faculties and higher technical schools to train skilled technical workers. Special attention was paid to the national personnel and women.
