This volume is reprinting of historical school documents selected from historical archives of Municipal elementary schools, located in Tainan city, Taiwan. We hope that publishing these documents will contribute to (re)constructing the historical open resources for Taiwan area studies and historical studies of Japanese Empire. This work focuses on eight branch schools of Shinka common school which was reported in our previous work. The perspective that encompasses all of the branch schools over the wide areas would be a better way to reconstruct the process of expansion of the public school under the Japanese rule, beyond individual school histories.
