Abstract
An Ag quarter-wave plate with an array of rectangular apertures is analyzed and compared with the result for PEC. Transmission peaks of extraordinary optical transmissions are obtained with both Ag and PEC plates for a specific thickness with a different wave-length. It is found that the operating wavelength of the Ag plate approaches that of the PEC plate, by reducing the aperture size based on the effect of the skin depth.
