Description

In this study, the water-based multi-component slurry containing an active material and a conductive agent used for the cathode of a lithium primary battery was evaluated by changing the stirring method and the particle concentration of the conductive agent. In addition, the effect of dispersion state of conductive agent particles on the electrode microstructure was investigated by measuring apparent density and volume resistivity. It was found that the dispersion state of the conductive agent strongly affected the dispersion state of the cathode slurry. It was also found that the electrode fabricated from the slurry containing many aggregates after the stirring of the conductive agent particles had lower electrical resistivity compared to that fabricated from the well-dispersed slurry.
