Abstract

1 We extracted 36 case reports from the literatures of the past 10 years to analyze the concrete status of discharge instructions by hospital nurses in home health care. 2 Various functions of the hospital nurses in charge of discharge instructions were confirmed and thus the needs of the specialist in this field must be emphasized. 3 The validity of the informal instructions as well as the experiential learning was found. Therefore, discharge instructions based on the social learning theory and the needs of the teaching method to cope with the complex medical skills have to be put stress upon.
