Description
Self-regulated learning (SRL) is the process in which learners actively monitor and controltheir own learning for their learning goal attainment. In this article, we focused on volitional control process in SRL in which learners maintain or enhance their motivation for their goal when facing difficulties, and emphasized an important role of volitional control strategies in educational situations. Specifically, we reviewed the research of "volitional control processes", and suggested that the following furture studies are called for : (1)analyzing the volitional regulation process generated from interactions among children and a teacher, (2) exploring the mechanisms underlying the use of volitional strategies, and (3) exploring the generation and developmental mechanism of volitional strategies.
