Abstract

How to save energy consumption in each of cities has been currently getting a more critical issue as one of the indispensable solutions in the world-wide topic on the reduction of CO2 emission, and it is needed that the city planning should do contribution by controlling land use and modifying urban structures of a city based on the research on relationship between land use and energy consumption. This study aims to construct the method and tool with GIS to analyze and visualize the relations between land use and energy consumption. As results, it proposes the typology of districts in terms of saving energy consumption through a case study on Fukuoka City.
